Ten Dollar Fonts. Yes, Please.

When you combine designers from around the world with the ease of online commerce, the result is an awesome collaboration like Ten Dollar Fonts. My typophile heart be still! There's something for everyone here - display fonts, elegant serifs, and some fun editorial and avant-garde choices too. For ten bones! That's nothin'. The variety is almost as pleasing as the fact that there's always a surprise waiting for you on this site. So many times, I'll be scrolling through all these fonts and think "Oh, they did that with letters?" It is truly amazing what people will create. There's nothing quite like a great art deco inspired font to inspire a cool fashion spread. Designed by Marcel Blijleven.

Zondag, by Jacopo Severitano, who has a pretty kickass portfolio. Laudanum is one of my favorites on the site, and juuuust might appear in a new project I'm working on. I especially enjoy the special characters included in this one. Designed by Carl  Rylatt, who also has some cool posters here.

Bright and Happy

2013 is shaping up to be an exciting year - I'm currently working on two projects that I hope to launch early in the new year that have my creative heart beating wildly. I haven't really used mood boards in my creative process before, but I was really stuck on this new project, so I decided to give it a whirl. It has been surprisingly helpful and has even taken my initial idea to a different place. It added an element of the unexpected, which was nice. I feel refreshed, and am ready to dive head first into this project, which I cannot wait to share with you all! And mood boards are here to stay. Images: 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7 / 8

Blog Crush / Daily Dishonesty

Daily Dishonesty is the hand lettered blog of Lauren Hom, where she combines humorous lies we tell ourselves with beautiful hand lettered type. A match made in heaven, no? The first one made me laugh because I can totally relate - despite my best efforts I usually leave the house later than I intended! I think I could spend hours sifting through hand lettering - there's just so much creative possibility. Lauren's portfolio is also filled with design goodies and I highly recommend you do your eyes a favor and check it out!
